DESCRIPTION:
Position Description The Park Stewardship Program is seeking an individual to successfully assist with the daily operations of the Volunteer In Parks program. The successful candidate will also provide support in the Environmental Education and Park Ranger programs. This position is a .75 FTE position requiring 30 hours per week. The position requires the ability to work an alternate schedule that may include weekends and/or evenings. Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience working with volunteers
• Experience in working with the public
• Experience working with diverse community groups and individuals
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to respond to questions and complaints in a courteous and tactful manner

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for the effectiveness, efficiency, and conduct of assigned tasks within the program.
2. Assist in planning and coordinating program activities, events and informational materials specific to the Volunteer in Parks program.
3. Provide onsite training and orientation for volunteers.
4. Maintain program standards and administer program within legal requirements.
5. Assist staff with monitoring, presentation, and administration of outdoor activities and programs at various locations throughout the City of Olympia.
6. Deliver, distribute, and collect equipment and tools to and from program sites and locations.
7. Assist with volunteer tracking.
8. Assist in maintaining various systems to track and measure program effectiveness.
9. Assist in collecting of program related data.
10.Assist in preparation and distribution of various written documents.
11.Assist in the preparation of grants and other funding source applications.
12.Assist with the Environmental Education program’s special events, displays and services.
13.Assist with the Ranger program and patrols.
14.Maintain program records and files.
15. Punctual, regular and reliable attendance is essential for successful job performance.
