The Orca Task Force (OTF) has recently compiled its draft recommendations to Gov. Inslee regarding its proposals to “help save the Southern Resident Killer Whales (SRKW)”.

Yet, many members of the concerned public and fellow task force members feel that the OTF’s recommendations do not go far enough to address food availability, especially Chinook Salmon from the Snake River.

Ken Balcolm, lead SRKW biologist of the Center for Whale Research, will be writing a dissent to the OTF’s recommendations stating that the OTF’s recommendations will not prevent the extinction of this species.

DamSense.Org is a group of individuals with a keen eye on government documents which make it possible to breach the 4 lower Snake River dams (LSRD) starting this year.  We are not a lobbyist group.  We are concerned scientists, civil engineers and global citizens concerned with the economic and environmental impacts of the 4 LSRD.

We will be presenting a people’s Recommendation 74 to Gov. Inslee at the Capital on Nov. 16th from 2-5 pm.  415 12th Ave SW, Olympia

Recommendation 74 explanation:

We the People, on behalf of the Southern Resident Orcas, the real beings and parties in interest, insist that Governor Inslee call Lt. Ge. Semonite of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and demand that he order the immediate breach of the lower Snake River dams under Alternative 4 of the existing EIS.

The Southern Resident Orcas have the right to life, which includes a naturally-occurring food source of Chinook from the Snake River watershed.
