Summer Project Assistant
(Start Date: May 1 – August 15 Full-time status)
Essential Functions:
- Assist with implementing program schedules.
- Assist with planning, organization and implantation of a formal training program for Summer Programs staff
- Assist with coordinating on campus facility reservations.
- Assist with transportation reservations
- Assist with coordinating with various on- and off-campus resources and constituents in offering diverse educational activities and sessions for Summer Program participants.
- Assist with ensuring compliance throughout Summer Programs with SMU facility policies, procedures and regulations.
- Assist with ordering food, supplies, and equipment, and arranging for proper distribution.
- Assist with money distribution.

- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with international students.
- Evidence of being highly organized with the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, students, and constituents.
- Ability to problem-solve and perform under time-pressured situations.
- Must be supportive of a Catholic, Benedictine philosophy of education.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- Works well in a team setting
- Excellent Excel, Word and Publisher skills
- Extremely detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills a must
- Willingness to be flexible and think outside the box
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated event planning experience
- Previous experience with international exchange students
- Previous experience traveling or living internationally
- Knowledge of a foreign language
