Position description:

Long Live the Kings seeks a passionate and dedicated philanthropy professional to be our Partnerships Associate. This full-time position reports to the Partnerships Director. As a member of the LLTK team, the qualified candidate will contribute to saving salmon, a vital Puget Sound resource and cultural icon, while using and learning current best practices in philanthropy and working alongside top experts in salmon and steelhead recovery.

We seek an inclusive, detail-oriented team player to accelerate the organization’s fundraising success by leading and expanding a robust corporate and special events program. As a crucial member of the Partnerships team, this role has great potential for growth and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Events Management (60%)

  • Develop and lead a robust special events and sponsorship program to drive crucial resources to LLTK mission activities
  • Utilizing board and staff input, plan and execute LLTK’s signature fundraising events throughout Puget Sound (“Spring Gala”/Seattle; “Salmon Homecoming”/Orcas Island; “Fall for Hood Canal”/Hood Canal)
  • Cultivate, steward, and solicit event sponsors and prospects as appropriate while leveraging staff and board participation.
  • Create and maintain event budgets, ensuring all funds are stewarded and used responsibly. Set targets and forecasts to measure progress against, and reconcile all payments and pledges post-event
  • Coordinate all day-of activities; manage event volunteers and interns
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Partnerships Director

Corporate Engagement (40%)

  • Manage a relationship portfolio of corporate donors/prospects, driving revenue to LLTK, and strategizing maximum brand leverage for LLTK communications needs
  • Lead implementation and strategic planning for non-financial corporate involvement such as employee volunteerism, policy and advocacy, and events
  • Research and identify new potential corporate partners; maintain a robust prospect list, incorporating information from staff, board, etc. as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Partnerships Director

Skills/Qualifications Desired:

  • 2-3 years of professional experience; 1-2 years of event planning experience preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit development/fundraising settings a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent level of training and experience
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Comfort and ability building relationships with diverse personalities, work styles, and cultures
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, small organization
  • Strong writer and editor
  • Positive team member
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Office Suite
