The City of Seattle’s Human Services Department is seeking a college student, ideally a junior or senior, to assist with administrative duties for the planning unit of Aging and Disability Services, Seattle Human Services Department. The position will primarily input community resources into a state-wide data system and maintain websites.

 Job Responsibilities:
  • Input and maintain community resources into state-wide data system.
  • Assist with website updates.
  • Assist with coordinating Age-Friendly Initiative activities.
  • Assist with meetings and events and participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Other administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
 Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Must be enrolled in an accredited educational program preferably studying:  Social work, psychology, sociology, public health, public administration, or other relevant areas.

Undergraduate interns must maintain a satisfactory GPA of 2.0 or higher for the duration of the internship.

Experience:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Ability to input information accurately and efficiently into a data system.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English proficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Knowledge of the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) taxonomy structure.
  • Experience with wordpress.
 Additional Information:
Start/End Dates:  Intern will start in late June/early July, 2018 and end December, 2019.

Schedule:  Intern will work up to 30 hours/week during the summer quarter, up to 15 hours/week during school year.  Work hours can be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Salary:  Undergraduates will be paid $16.56/hour.
