Are you interested in teaching children about the world around them? Fairview Lake YMCA is a year round residential outdoor education center that focuses on hands-on experiential learning for children in grades 2-8. Fairview Lake is located in tbe Northwest corner of New Jersey surrounded by 660 acres of swamps, forests and fields.  We reside on a mile long lake which gives us our name. We are only an hour and a half drive from New York City!

Fairview Lake Program Instructors will teach pre-approved academic curriculum, lead night hikes and campfires, facilitate our team building course, belay at our climbing walls, and more. Outdoor education covers both our education and recreation lessons that occur daily. Besides instructing, everyone will led a hand in upkeep of the grounds, cabins and equipment for each lesson.

Benefits include: a base rate of $10/hr, possible housing and  most meals. Also a two week on-site training.

A college degree in Environmental/Outdoor Education/Sciences/ Teaching are preferred. A love of children, the desire and abitlity to teach in the outdoors (rain or shine) is required. The qualities of being flexible, patient and self-motivated are used on a daily basis.

Positions for Spring run March to Mid-June and Fall positions will run mid-August to Thanksgiving. Limited internships may be available.
