Responsibilities

  • Duties listed at the full performance level.
  • Conducts field reconnaissance in order to provide technical advice related to a variety of wildlife species and habitats.
  • Determines the need for and recommends wildlife habitat restoration, enhancement or improvement projects.
  • Works cooperatively with Federal and State wildlife resource agencies.
  • Coordinates wildlife habitat management projects with timber, engineering, recreation and other resource programs. And collaborates with the public and our partners with an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Assists the supervisory wildlife biologist to develop proposed habitat restoration actions, conduct effects analyses and consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
  • Performs contract administration duties for project implementation.
  • Ensures projects adhere to federal laws, policies and regulations.
