Job Title:             Program Coordinator, Statewide Education

Status:                  20 hours per week, Temporary*

Reports to:         Farm Program Manager

Location:             Tilth Alliance main office – Wallingford (Seattle), WA

 

Tilth Alliance supports ecologically sound, socially just, and economically vital local food systems through diverse activities that address obstacles, barriers and challenges facing farmers and sustainable agriculture across Washington State. The Farm Program facilitates educational events across the state for farmers of all skill levels.

 

Position Description:

The Statewide Education Coordinator will be responsible for development and delivery of statewide educational programming including farm walks, webinars, and a farmer membership survey. S/he will work with a diverse group of farmers, staff, partners, and stakeholders to determine needs and deliver programming that is relevant, accessible, and impactful across types and scale of production, cultural backgrounds and experience level. *This is a temporary position through April 2018, with the possibility of an extension.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a statewide survey of farmer-member knowledge/learning and perceived needs
  • Organize and facilitate Farm Walks, workshops, seminars, and other educational events
  • Engage with stakeholders and partners to inform development of new programming
  • Assist in grant reporting
  • Conduct outreach to beginning and underserved farmers to increase awareness of Tilth Alliance programs
  • Other related duties as assigned

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Washington agriculture, emphasis on small and mid-scale enterprises
  • Experience in education or outreach
  • Familiarity with Washington agricultural organizations
  • Ability to complete self-directed projects with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Confidence in using the MS Office suite and online resources such as GoToMeeting, Survey Monkey,
  • Ability to travel for meetings and events

 

Compensation:

$17 – $20 per hour
