Media Services Thanksgiving Break Hours

For those of you considering working on your animation project over break, take note of these holiday closures and/or reduced hours:

Media Loan:  CLOSED.  The last chance to checkout equipment/keys, and reserve time in the production facilities is on Saturday, 11/17, from 9:00am – 1:45pm. Checkouts for the break week will be treated as a long weekend checkout, so no Extended Loan Request is needed.

Electronic Media Support Desk:   CLOSED

Multimedia Lab:   CLOSED

Library 24-Hour Suites and 2d Animation Labs:   Open through Wednesday 11/21,  CLOSED Thanksgiving Day through Sunday, 11/25.

Please find the Week 8 Calendar page using the Calendar link above. There are lots of things going on next week, so please read the Week 8 page carefully. Some highlights:

  • No class on Monday due to Veteran’s Day holiday
  • Integrative Essay revision due to faculty by 9 am Tuesday. See assignment for details on what to turn in
  • Tuesday seminar meets instead in CAL at 9 am to continue work on Final Project
  • Final Project Part I due Thursday morning
  • Thursday afternoon from 2-4 in Lecture Hall 2, visiting animator Chris Sullivan will screen some of his earlier short films, talk about current work in progress and show artwork from “Consuming Spirits.”
  • Thursday evening 6 pm: Chris Sullivan’s “Consuming Spirits” at Capitol Theater, downtown

Week 6 Physics problems available

  • Please find this week’s physics problems under Assignments: Physics.
  • We’ll finish up remaining material from this morning in Wednesday’s Physics Workshop.
  • I’ve identified in [] those problems related to concepts we didn’t get to in class on Monday. If you’re able, attempt those, but you can also wait until after the discussion on Wednesday and work on them during Problem Session.
  • I hope you will be able to attempt (if not complete) the other problems based on our discussion today.

Drawing Track Update

Ruth will be out of town on Tuesday October 30th, so in her absence you have an exercise to complete and a follow-up homework assignment that you can find here.  Remember that Group A sketchbooks are due for review Tuesday of week 7, and Group B sketchbooks are due for review Tuesday of week 8.
